Who we are

Tohidul Islam MRPharmS
Since qualifying as a pharmacist in 2005 I have worked predominantly in community pharmacy as relief, manager and locum. In 2016 I setup the largest locum network on the Telegram app which then went on to become the basis for setting up the Pharmacist Cooperative in 2018. Since then I have founded the Syrkle.net professional social networking site, co-founded the Pharmacy Innovation Lab to support independent pharmacy owners and in summer of 2022 co-founded Schedule 4 Consultancy with Paul Summerfield to make it easier for individual pharmacists to buy and setup a community pharmacy.

Paul Summerfield, B.Sc. (Hons) Pharmacy, LL.B. (Hons), LL.M. (Medical Law), PG. Dip. (Bar Vocational Studies), MRPharmS

I was enrolled onto the pharmacists register in 1997 and have predominately worked in community pharmacy as a locum although I have held numerous roles since 1997 including a GP Practice Pharmacist, Superintendant Pharmacist and academic tutor. I was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincolns Inn in 2007. Although I do not have a practicing certificate, I set up Pharmaceutical Defence in 2012 to give advice and represent pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in front of their regulators. I have appeared in front of various committees over the last decade as a representative and regularly volunteer my time to Pharmacist Support. Finally, I am a visiting expert at the University of Reading where I help to deliver the law and ethics element of the independent prescribing course.

Why we started S4C

  • Make the process of buying a pharmacy easy as possible
  • Encourage more individual pharmacists to become independent contractors
  • Change the community pharmacy landscape so majority of pharmacies are owned and operated by individual pharmacists
